Eliminating Recurring Revit Crashes Through Crash Analytics

Project Snapshot
Category | Description |
Client | Multi-Disciplinary BIM Coordination Team |
Sector | BIM Design & Coordination |
Platform | Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Ze’Manage |
Automation Partner | ZestineTech |
Key Outcome | Reduced crash investigation effort by 45%, saved Manual investigation hours per crash cycle, and eliminated recurring model instability through risk prevention workflows |
Problem Statement
During active BIM coordination in our project, we have experiencing frequent crashes. Our BIM team had no centralized visibility into crash root causes — resulting in compounding model instability across the shared project environment.
Impact of the Challenge
Recurring crashes disrupted active workflows and caused loss of unsaved work across multiple team members.
Manual crash investigation through journal file review added 10–16 hours of effort per crash cycle.
No risk prevention workflow existed to stop users from repeating the same operations after each crash.
How ZestineTech Solved It
Approach
Rather than treating each crash as an isolated incident, ZestineTech implemented a centralized crash analytics and risk prevention approach to identify the root cause of recurring model instability and prevent high-risk activities from being repeated across the project environment.
Methodology
Using Ze’Manage Crash Register, the BIM Administrator reviewed the crash session and traced the source of instability. Ze AI Assistant was consulted to recommend the most appropriate preventive action. Based on the identified risk, Event Restriction controls were applied to:
CAD Import
CAD Explode
These activities were protected through an OTP-based authorization workflow, ensuring that high-risk operations could only be performed with administrator approval.
Project Timeline
The implementation of Ze’Manage reduced crash investigation effort by approximately 45% and eliminated repeated troubleshooting activities caused by recurring CAD-related issues. By identifying root causes faster and preventing the same activities from recurring, the BIM team was able to spend more time on project coordination and less time on crash analysis and model stabilization efforts.

Why Zestine Technologies
BIM-focused crash analytics and risk prevention expertise
AI-assisted root cause identification for faster resolution
Targeted event-level control without disrupting active user workflows
Scalable risk prevention for large multi-disciplinary BIM environments
Client Outcome
By confirming CAD Import as the crash trigger and applying Event Restriction through Ze’Manage, we reduced crash investigation effort by 45%, saved over 10 coordination hours per cycle, and eliminated recurring model instability during active project delivery. The team shifted focus back to coordination and away from repeated troubleshooting.
